Top Tip Number 6 - Use dry grout mix NOT premix.

When choosing the grout, dry product is always best and comes in a wide range of colours to match or contrast with your tiles.✅
This should be thoroughly mixed, left for 5 minutes to settle and then mixed again.✅
Dry grout is easier to work with that premixed and will last longer giving you better results.✅

Top Tip number 5 - Incorrect Application of Adhesive on Tiles!
Dot and Dab is the WRONG way to use adhesive❗️

You can tell if your current tiled wall or floor are dot and dabbed with adhesive; tap them and see if any areas sound hollow.❗️
The reason people use dot and dab is 1) to save money and 2) to help them fit tiles to an uneven surface.

The problems that will arise from using the dot and dab method are A) the tiles are likely to crack in the areas where they are hollow underneath if pressure is placed upon them ❗️and
B)The tile is only half adhered to the wall or floor and so more likely to fail.❗️

We DON'T cut corners and we use FULL coverage of adhesive as the LAST 2 pics show. It takes a little more time and money this way but your tiling job will stand the test of time. ✅

Top Tip number 4 - Use the CORRECT adhesive for the tile❗️

Not All Adhesives are Equal!

A professional tiler knows which adhesives to use for different types of tiles and applications. ✅

As well as flexible and non-flexible adhesives, you would use a different adhesive for ceramic tiles than with porcelain tiles.✅

A good professional tiler will be able to explain why.😉

Top Tip Number 3 - Select the RIGHT tiles for the area!
Choose Suitable Tiles for Your Project ✅ You should choose the correct type of tile for the application and your tiler should advise what type of tile would be suitable for your job.✅

Glazed tiles may not be suitable for outdoor use or areas of heavy foot traffic.❗️
Porcelain tiles are hard wearing and good for commercial and domestic flooring.✅
Un-glazed tiles are good for non-slip areas.✅
Terracotta tiles are NOT frost resistant and some natural stone tiles require specifically designed adhesives and grouts and sealing.❗️
